February is near!! We all know what that means!! It's time for our Southern Rivers Fine Arts Exposition! Our Southern Rivers Fine Arts Exposition brings artwork from over 30 artists from surrounding towns to Camilla, GA! The artwork is on display at the historic Camilla Depot from Sunday, February 25 until Thursday, March 1 for anyone's viewing pleasure, free of charge. On Saturday, February 24, there will be a "Preview Party" held at the Depot to give attendees a chance to visit with the artists and to get first dibs on any pieces they may be interested in. There is also a cocktail buffet included with the price of your ticket. This event is NOT limited to huge, elaborate wall art. There is art of various forms including pottery, hand woven baskets, wood works, jewelry, etc. Please make plans to join us! Contact the Chamber for tickets or with any questions!
Additionally, we have revived the Student Art Show. Started to encourage the love and study of the arts in school-aged children, we invite any child under the age of 18 that is either attending school or homeschooled in Mitchell County to submit art to be displayed. Prizes are awarded in each age category. Deadline for entry is Friday, February 16. Forms can be picked up at the Chamber, Camilla Gym & Tan, emailed, or picked up at the child's school. Big thanks to Kristi Worsham and Karla Noble for their help bringing this back!
